Walking Assistance Device / Exterior Design & Human–Machine Interface Development
aruc. is a walking assistance device being developed to help people with mobility difficulties walk using their own legs. Development currently focuses on indoor use, with a range of everyday applications under consideration.
Exhibited at CEATEC 2025.
Functional Prototyping & Evaluation
A working prototype was developed for proof-of-concept testing to identify and assess practical challenges. Evaluation covered how the device should be used and the effectiveness of the design, including its internal configuration. The prototype was subsequently exhibited at CEATEC.
The design process considered potential rehabilitation applications for older adults and people recovering from illness or injury. Device weight, fit and interaction with the posture-control system were also examined as part of the usability and safety considerations.
Testing and refinement are ongoing as development progresses toward commercialization.
